The IC offers students at The University of Toledo a great chance to gain real-world experience that extends beyond the realm of mass media. We hire people of all experience levels -- from veteran reporters to communication students taking their first news writing course or even students not in the communication program. No matter what your skill level, there's probably a place for you at the IC.

Since the IC is independent from UT and funds itself, it also has a business staff responsible for earning the newspaper's revenue.

Editorial openings:

We're looking for editors for the 2009-10 academic year, including the following:

-Copy Editors:
These positions require a critical eye and familiarity with Associated Press style as well as rules of proper grammar and structure in order to edit and fact check the content of the IC. Ideal candidates will also possess good communication skills and creative insight.
 

We also are hiring:

- Staff Writers: We're seeking writers for the news, sports, forum, and arts and life sections of the newspaper.

- Photographers
